Cowgirl Birthday

About six weeks before Big Nugget turned three, we welcomed Little Nugget into our family. So naturally, in my postpartum state, I decided that her third birthday needed to be extra special. As in, make up for all the guilt that I was feeling for not giving her as much attention anymore. I let her pick the theme, horses and I went (overboard) from there.
The Sweet Treats
The fabric banner came together from a scrap roll that I bought at Hobby Lobby that happened to be the perfect color combination for the party. Flippen Fanchers has the perfect tutorial on how to make these banners – they are super easy.
I love to bake and always make the cakes for our parties but this year, I knew I just couldn’t do it. An amazing local baker made my vision come to life. Not only was it adorable, it tasted amazing.
The cookies were done by Two Sugar Bees and they also served as the party favors. They turned out so great, I used them again for Little Nugget’s first birthday.
Cowgirl Birthday Elements
The centerpieces were very simple – mason jars, red bandana’s and sunflowers. I could not resist these tiny bales of hay.
We kept the kids busy with a horseshoe painting station and our bounce house.
For this cowgirl birthday party, we kept the menu simple – burgers and hot dogs, crock pot mac and cheese, watermelon and a spinach/strawberry salad.
Cowgirl Birthday Girl
Big Nugget wanted a horse dress and I found this one from Mini Boden. Their clothes are such good quality and a year later, she still wears this dress as a tunic with leggings. The boots are from Cat and Jack at Target.
I keep asking Big Nugget what she wants to do for her birthday this year. She’s said over and over again, Chuck E. Cheese. Why? Because I didn’t want to take her there for lunch one day and told her that you could only go if you were invited for a birthday party. So, Chuck E Cheese it is this year. Not my first choice but if I can recreate this smile, then it’s all worth it.

This birthday is absolutely darling! It totally reminds me of my favorite birthday memory with my little red cowboy boots. I hope you had such a good time!
Thank you! Love that birthday memory – some of my favorites from childhood are from birthday parties. Probably why I tend to go crazy with my own kids. LOL!
This birthday party is so cute. There is literally something fun for everyone. I love the theme and that cake is gorgeous.
